Danny da Costa will move from Eintracht Frankfurt to league competitor FSV Mainz 05 for the coming season. This was announced by his new club on Friday. The defender joins the Mainz -free free of charge and receives a contract until 2025.
"I am very pleased that Danny agreed to us," said coach Bo Svensson: "He has immense sporting quality and is an outstanding guy who also has a lot of experience at national and international level."
Da Costa had already played as a loan for Mainz last season and was convinced: "It is no secret that he played a very important role in relegation last year," said Svensson.
