On 1 December 2021, the cute and Jump & Run mission in Snowdrift land of the German Developer Team Tons of Bits appeared on Steam for the PC.
Who thinks Man, I know that!, Thus completely right. Mission in Snowdrift was published in 2006 as part of an interactive Advent calendar on behalf of Nintendo's as a browser game.
Every day opened a level door, so the structure with the 24 levels comes. Matching the level overview reminds of an Advent calendar with different doors. After the Advent premiere, mission in Snowdrift land was no longer playable for four years. In 2010, it was briefly set online, but only for a few days.
And now, 15 years after to originate released, Chubby returns after a well-known YouTuber has prepared the exciting story of the title and after two subsequent Kickstarter campaigns.

But what happened that the little snowman has to help? The common penguin el pix has stolen game files from the human world and brought them into his cave in the snowdrift country. This world is very cold, it is even so icy that most heroes could not survive there.
A journey full of gaming nostalgia

Dr. Schnabel, the assistant of the CEO, then looks the solution for the problem in the lobby: Chubby, the little snowman.
He seems to be perfect for traveling to travel to the snowy world. Chubby was actually only in the company because he wanted to complain that he could not get any suitable roles in games so far. Perfect for this game suitable, the snowman comes to his new role as a savior of video games.
Shortly after this initial sequence, one reaches the first level of the 2D bouncy play. In four higher-level areas, we expect six levels each, and thematically differ them clearly.

There are 24 snowflakes per level, which one can sometimes simply collect secondary, but sometimes you have to hop small detours to get the frosty floors.
The control is a bit spongy, and you slide a bit through the area on the snowy ground, which is not uncommon on an icy area. This requires some accuracy, but then you can handle well. The precision of a Mario Hoofer may not expect.
As soon as you have completed a level, you get one of the stolen gaming files back, this is always about retro-play inspired objects. So you get about a green-white egg of Joshi or the frog from Flogger.
The evil, common penguins
The colorful snakes and penguins offer a nice color contrast to the otherwise blue environment. But even though they look nice, they are just as dangerous as the icicles hanging from the ceiling. Source: Games Of course you do not just have to jump through the worlds, but also avoid opponents or conquer them through a tactical jump on their heads. If one does not succeed and one is touched by them, one loses one of his three life. If you have lost all hearts, the level starts from the front.
As an adversary, we face ourselves primarily penguins, which make a life of a life. Of course, but penguins are not in good hands on a tree in the forest, but a solution has also found themselves: in these levels they wear chic squirrel outfits, which really looks cute.

Incomprehensibly, we find, as sweet as he is!
Some animals have fortunate that fortunately and are well-tuned Chubby. A gigantic mammoth is then namelessly transported us an otherwise impassable piece of the path, or a whale punches one with a fountain upwards, so that we reach higher platforms.
Incidentally, in the former 24 levels and the final struggle, he had a door to a door. And so the adventure offers a bonus level, which is unlocked only from 24th of December 2021, so we do not know what to expect.
Retrofitting through graphics and music
The 2D adventure looks almost as well as then. The textures are simply designed and without much superfluous bellows. But that does not need it. The different levels convince by little things.
So our little snowman has an even smaller hat. The color scheme is colorful, cheerful and fits the cheerful mood of the adventure. And of course, the penguins in their costumes are a true highlight — especially with their sweet squirrel ears. Too bad: It's just a piece of music that dodge in every level. That sounds in principle very nice, but the monotony annoys.
The Jump & Run offers a few hours of fun hop fun, looks snugly and offers enough variety to hold one at the bar. But you have to adjust to a belonging sugar shock — since we are very vulnerable here, we do not want to complain.
Mission in Snowdrift land has been available for six euros via Steam on the PC since 1 December, versions for consoles are currently not announced.

Sugar sweet adventure with many nostalgemeoments
For me, mission in snowdrift country was definitely a small highlight. The cute appearance of the snowman just was happy again. The levels are beautifully designed and the penguins in the squirrel costume really did me. I am very curious what hides in the new chapter, which is unlocked on 24th December. Too bad that the casual piece of music tugs something to the nerves, and a trace of more precision in the principally decent control would have been good. Nevertheless, Mission in Snowdrift land is a really cute, successful adventure, and it's nice that Chubby receives a second chance after all the years.
